Meet a Provider

Michael Cutlack

Michael Cutlack, Workplace Health Provider (QLD)

What do you like most about your job?

I love the variety in what we do. Whether it is the variety of different people from other cultures we deal with or the variety of clinical presentations we get.

What does a typical workday look like for you?

It depends on what client I am attending that day. My day usually starts with doing some form of exercise.  From there, I will drive to the site. My drive can vary from 30 minutes up to two hours depending on where I am going that day. This gives me time to listen to podcasts and music. Once onsite, I communicate with our client about the day ahead and get started.

How can clients get the most out of their injury prevention and management strategies?

Help your provider familiarise themselves with the site – getting out on floor walks can be a great way of achieving this. It allows us to visualise what the workers are doing and helps us to provide better recommendations for their care. Don’t be afraid to ask questions, the more we can collaborate the better we can help.

How do you stay healthy?

I enjoy going to the gym and walking my dog. I also try and get out for a run every week, something I have previously found challenging but I am enjoying it more now. I also make sure I have a good balance of time spent with family and friends.
