Meet a Provider

Darragh McGovern, National Operations Manager

What do you like most about your job?

I love that we genuinely offer the best onsite care available to workers who may not have the ability to seek such services if we didn’t exist. I truly believe Work Healthy Australia offers the best in market service to our clients and patients. I love that we can help our clients show that they care for their employees with a service that is focused on resolving injuries, whilst keeping their employees happy and healthy at work.

What is the most common piece of advice you give to your patients?

‘That you are going to be ok’. A lot of our work with patients involves calming and reassuring communication. By the time a patient seeks care, they are generally worried and concerned about the prognosis of their injury. Utilising words that heal rather than words that harm is really important and powerful.

How can workplaces get the most out of you?

I really enjoy problem solving the more complicated injuries. For the majority of patients, with a little bit of care, reassurance, and a little bit of active management on their end, they will be absolutely fine in no time.

How do you stay healthy?

I have a beautiful Australian Shepherd puppy named Bailey who requires lots of running. She ran 130km with me during the recent MS May 50k run/walk challenge. Without Bailey, I’m not so sure I’d be keeping the dad bod at bay! Cuddles and smiles with my perfect 3-month-old baby girl also help me stay happy and grounded.

When you aren’t onsite, what are you doing?

As an Operations Manager, I’m forever collaborating with my wonderful Operations and Client Relationship teams to problem solve, prepare, and plan for client meetings, manage provider schedules, all with the end goal of helping to develop a bigger and better future for Work Healthy Australia and the Australian workforce.
