Meet a Provider

Matisse Perks, Queensland

How did you start your career?

After completing my university studies, I started my career as a private practice chiropractor,Ā focused on helping patients return to work and daily activities.Ā My interestĀ in workplace health led me to join Work Healthy Australia in 2021 as a Workplace Health Provider.

What do you like most about your job?

Besides helping workers stay healthy, I’m passionate about bringing the latest advancements in pain science to the workplace, where they can have a meaningful impact. By assisting organisations in better understanding and managing pain, we canĀ focusĀ on reducing absenteeism, improving worker retention, and ultimately creating healthier, more resilient teams, leading to significant cost savings for businesses.

When you aren’t onsite, what are you doing?

Outside of onsite hours, I’m focused on developing theĀ Why Work HurtsĀ course—a forward-thinking program that equips workplaces with essential tools to better understand and manage pain. By truly understanding one of the most significant challenges in the workplace, it helps companies reduce absenteeism and support their teams more effectively. I am pursuing a Doctor of Medicine at the University of Queensland, so I try to make the most of the beautiful campuses by completing my work projects there.

How can workplaces get the most our of you?

Say hi and ask questions! While I enjoy performing hands-on treatment, I have a particular interest in injury prevention and strategies to improve injury management in the workplace. If you have a question or concern or just want a second opinion on something, I would be delighted to help.
