Meet a Provider

Cameron Hooper, Victoria

What do you like most about your job?

It’s the people. It’s the relationships I develop with the crew working on the floor in production, their supervisors and management all the way up the line. It’s the collaborative interactions I have with the team from the ground up. It’s the feeling I get when integrating those experiences and interactions into an effective onsite injury management program for our clients.

How can workplaces get the most out of you?

Having an in-depth knowledge of the production process is key to implementing effective strategies to help minimise and manage the injury burden on workplaces. I love getting out on the floor and observing the crew do their thing. I’m always amazed at their capacity to pump it out day after day. Understanding these processes enables me the necessary insight required to develop effective treatment solutions. If I’m not in the treatment room, I’m probably getting kitted up to get out on the floor.

When you aren’t onsite, what are you doing?

I’m delivering material for client, marketing and social media projects. As well as keeping up to speed with the latest ideas about managing the health and wellbeing of the labour force.

How do you stay healthy?

  • Sleep is critical. It really is – check out my article on the importance of sleep.
  • I do my best to make healthy choices with food (I love cooking).
  • I keep moving, I love running – although I’m not as fast as my colleague Darragh McGovern, he calls himself “The Flash”.
  • And I make sure I give myself time to enjoy other hobbies I’m passionate about. This is crucial for my brain. I might be one of the most underrated magicians in Melbourne.
