Meet a Provider

Allie Deacon

Allie Deacon, Workplace Health Provider (VIC)

What do you like most about your job?

I love that we can treat workers at their place of employment and really immerse ourselves in the site culture. Every week I get the privilege of meeting so many people from differing cultural backgrounds and providing them with healthcare they may not have had access to before. Helping workers make meaningful changes to improve their functional capacity and overall health is a really rewarding experience.

What does a typical workday look like for you?

No day is ever the same when working onsite. Each day brings its own challenges and unique experiences which makes this job so great!  Most days begin quite early with a coffee and a long drive filled with music, podcasts or audiobooks. Once onsite, I often have a full day of treating workers, providing manual handling advice, educating patients and creating exercise programs.

What would you say to someone who is unsure about whether Work Healthy Australia would help their business?

I truly believe that everyone can benefit from the services we provide at Work Healthy Australia. We are a team of passionate and caring individuals who all share the same goals of helping people improve their physical capacity and general overall health. Our services provide workers with a safe and supported environment to seek help with injuries or concerns that they may not have had the capacity to address before.

How do you stay healthy?

Although getting good quality sleep, eating a well-balanced diet and moving the body is important in maintaining my overall health, I also like to prioritise the things I love to keep my mind healthy. This often includes things such as fishing with my partner, spending time with family and practising mindfulness.
