Meet a Provider

Headshot of Ruth Garcia, Workplace Health Provider at Work Healthy Australia

Ruth Garcia, Workplace Health Provider (VIC)

What do you like most about your job?

Treating an array of conditions and meeting new people on-site. As a result, I’m always learning and developing as a clinician. It’s a rewarding job that allows me to help people who may be in circumstances that make it difficult to access healthcare.

What does a typical workday look like for you?

A giant coffee, podcasts lined up, squeezing in my own stretch routine and a full patient list. A typical workday can vary at Work Healthy Australia as we travel to different sites on a daily basis. After arriving on-site, my day is filled with anything from treating or educating patients to floor walks and assessing ergonomics.

How can clients get the most out of their injury prevention and management strategies?

Don’t be afraid to ask lots of questions with your on-site practitioner, we have lots of experience and knowledge we would love to share. Collaboration is key and we are always finding ways to provide a specific yet holistic approach to healthcare and implementing this on your site.

How do you stay healthy?

Maintaining a good work-life balance. I think it is important to look after yourself before looking after others. These days I like to focus on good sleep hygiene, setting time aside for my hobbies and spending time with my family/friends.
