Meet a Provider

Shaun Evans, Workplace Health Provider (QLD)

What do you like most about your job?

I love helping people, and knowing each day is going to present a new challenge. Seeing a worker coming in for treatment the very first time, a little scared and nervous, and perhaps worried about what their injury means, to then seeing them after a couple of treatments, excited and knowing the benefit they’re about to receive – this is something I really enjoy about my job.

Problem-solving and knowing the same thing might not necessarily work with two different people, and figuring out the right personalised solution for someone, are just a couple of the many aspects of my job that I love.

Work Healthy Australia have a magnificent team of caring people, who work together as a team, to provide the best service possible to all involved stakeholders.

What does a typical workday look like for you?

I always enjoy having a chat!  I arrive early on site, seeking out our site contacts to have a chat about previous days’ care, and upcoming days.

It’s hard to put into words the feeling we get as onsite providers when we get feedback from our site contacts, or patients themselves, how much of a difference we have made for them.  It makes my day!

What is the most common piece of advice you give to clients?

“We care and you are going to be ok”.  Often, people are worried about their injury, their recovery, and what it might mean for their employment.  Both words and actions tell my clients that I care.

What would you say to someone who is unsure about whether Work Healthy Australia would help their business?

If you don’t have us on site, you are missing out! It’s not just about saving your business money in lost productivity, downtime, lost time injuries, or workers’ compensation claims.  It’s about creating an environment where your workers feel safe to seek help with something that they may not otherwise either be able to afford, or not prioritise, but would in all likelihood be resolved early on, rather than getting worse, and becoming a long term, chronic (and costly) injury.

With Work Healthy Australia, you are getting a group of like-minded people who genuinely care and will help you show your staff how much you care too.
