Meet a Provider

Dana Moore, Victoria

What is your favourite thing about your job?

I enjoy the complexity of injury management and people management, combined with the problem solving skills involved in coming to a diagnosis. My greatest interest in my work is rehabilitation and exercise prescription. I have spent a great portion of time outside of work over the past five years learning a wide range of rehab techniques and have even worked with high level athletes and programs to further my education.

How can workplaces get the most out of you?

A lot of my interests lie in analysing movement and how that may relate to injuries. By knowing as much as I can about how workers perform their role and being able to get on the floor and see how tasks are performed I can better understand why injuries are occurring. I’m always happy to help if there is a certain job that you are concerned about and provide some insight.

When you aren’t onsite, what are you doing?

Most of my time outside of the treatment room is spent furthering my knowledge through keeping up to date with new research, learning new approaches to injury assessments and rehab approaches and listening to podcasts on complex cases. I also spend a significant portion of my week doing project work mainly in the realm of rehab plans and approaches.

How do you stay healthy?

I’m an avid tennis player and try to get on the court 2-3 times a week. I also try to keep active in the pool and with my family dog who keeps me very busy. I follow a very strict plant-based diet after discovering several food allergies and intolerances that were causing me to feel constantly unwell. Implementing these changes, especially in the past 12 months have allowed me to feel full of energy and much happier overall.
