Who should attend the course?
Any adult can attend. We recommend starting with Team Leaders, Supervisors and Department Managers.
Why attend this course?
Evaluations consistently show that MHFA training is associated with improved knowledge of mental illnesses, their treatments and appropriate first aid strategies, and confidence in providing assistance to individuals with mental illness. It is also associated with decreased stigma and an increase in help provided.
Become and accredited Mental Health First Aider
Demonstrate your mental health first aid skills by becoming an Accredited Mental Health First Aider. Complete an online assessment after the course to become accredited.
Course Format
This is a 12 hour course that can be delivered over 2, 3 or 4 sessions. We recommend a gap of no more than 2 weeks between sessions. Maximum 15 participants per course.
